Student Services

Student Trips

In partnership with Stockwell Community Green Service and Forum for International Relations Development, the college organises various educational and social trips to various national and local locations. In the past we have visited numerous theme parks and have taken the students rock climbing and canoeing. Students have had the chance to meet Mayor Masood Ahmed, Kate Hoey MP, Rt Hon Sadiq Khan, Lady Caroline Richards, Rt Hon Baroness Warsi, Mayor Neeraj Patil, discussing pressing issues such as the rise in tuition fees.

Sports Facilities

SOEL organises free sporting activities in: football; cricket; swimming; Tae Kwando; Karate; and boxing. We also provide a mini-gym for students. The School has also made arrangements with the local sports centre for SOEL students to make use of their facilities. The College has sponsored cricket tournaments for the Afghan Appeal Fund (founded by Lady Caroline Richards and Patron Sir General David Richards) and teams for the past few years. Recreation and gym facilities have also been added to the campus where students can play snooker, pool and table tennis as well as running and general exercise.

Student Welfare

The School welfare team devote much of their time to the care of overseas students still finding their feet. This may include helping students register with a doctor (overseas students are entitled to health care under the National Health Service), or finding an ethnic restaurant or a place of worship. Also, there will be occasions when a student needs official documents, in order to extend a student visa for example, or open a bank account. The welfare team will be happy to help. The School aims to make its students feel at home, and to provide the pastoral and administrative support that will allow them to concentrate on their studies.

Help and Advice Centre

To help students make use of resources and services available, our friendly and approachable staff are happy to offer assistance and advice to students every Friday from 1:00pm -3:00pm.
