About School of Economics & Law in London

Our mission here at School of Economics and Law (SOEL), formerly known as, London College of Business Management and Infomation Technolgy (LCBMIT) is to alleviate poverty through making people employable. We are therefore committed to widening participation and supporting students from all backgrounds but in particular those that are disadvantaged, nationally and internationally.

We possess expertise that informs our mission, educational curriculum, and student experience. For instance, we are the first HE institution to have a focused strategy on inspiring our students to become “socially responsible graduates”. Our students are taught ethical business practices in a global context, volunteer in local community organisations/activities, and through our relationships with FTSE 100 companies gives students insights into how multinationals are becoming corporate citizens.

We offer courses at A-level equivalent and above, undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Law, Management, Healthcare and English. Our campus is located in Camberwell, South East London.

SOEL’s courses are practice-based, vocational and professional in nature, and are designed to enhance students’ employability and social responsibility. We are continuously improving and our quality assurance procedures provide confidence to our students and other stakeholders. We take pride in our teaching staff, including visiting faculty who also work with London School of Economics (LSE), Goldsmiths, Harvard, University of Washington, and beyond.

We are a truly innovative College, having designed our own Postgraduate Diploma in International Commercial Law, which has been approved by Buckinghamshire New University at 120 credits and with fast track entry onto the University’s LLM International Commercial Law (Dissertation Stage). Owing to our socially responsible graduates strategy, the programme has a unique human rights pathway.

SOEL has student experience and widening participation at the heart of its Strategic Plan. We have extended scholarships to date worth more than £1 million.
Our support staff are highly trained to deal with your queries and meet your needs.

Our Advisory Board has a wealth of experience, and meets regularly to ensure that we are meeting our academic standards.
